Presentation

Understanding how the Earth’s surface and climate evolve calls for innovative teaching and research approaches, especially in the context of global change and natural hazards. Today’s challenges require to move beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries and to integrate new concepts, tools, and datasets within Earth Sciences.

The International Master in Geosciences at CEREGE (Aix-en-Provence, France) provides advanced training at the M1 and M2 levels in paleoclimatology, active tectonics, geomorphology, and planetary sciences. Our program combines strong theoretical foundations with state-of-the-art analytical and field methods, preparing students to address key scientific questions across a range of Earth system processes.

The program welcomes international students at both entry points:

Courses are taught in English from S2 to S4. The first semester (S1) includes a combination of courses in French and English (see the syllabus for specifics).

Based in Aix-en-Provence, the program is part of the broader STPE Master (Earth, Environment and Planetary Sciences) at Aix-Marseille University and is fully embedded within CEREGE, one of France’s leading research centers in Environmental Geosciences. This unique environment offers students direct access to dynamic research teams, specialized facilities, and diverse field sites, providing a stimulating space for learning, collaboration, and discovery.

This website is designed to provide international students with comprehensive information about the IMG program, in English. Similar information can also be found on institutional pages, mostly in French :
